I heard sometimes, for territorial fish, if you take him out for a while, rearrange the tank, the fish might not be as aggressive since he's the newbie and the other fish all have their territories. But I'm not sure this applies to platies.

I'm all out of ideas so hopefully this works!

but even that has its down sides because fish could fight for the "new" terratory

platy aggresion

I have 2 platies one is black tail orange body other is white and yellow. The black tail is ramming and chasing off the yellowish one. the yellowish one goes to the bottom of my tank and just sits there, depressed. then when it comes up the blacktail keeps trying to bite it and ram it. Are they playing or hurting eachother?

hello Ash4777
this is a very old thread you have joined onto, hopefully
one of the mods can move it for you.
in the mean time,i will try and help if i can.
how long have you had this aquarium for ?
what else do you keep alongside these platys ?
how many platys do you have ?
what size aquarium is it.
if they are two males, then this is aggression,if this is a male with one
female,he will harass her so much, that it won't be a good out come for her.
ideally you need one male to three plus females,to give them a break.
