1 Boy and 5 Girls.... Yessireee!!!
The way you tell is the Anal fin. On the 5 girls it is like a little Fan. On the male it is long and straight.
SO..... you know what happens when you have 5 girls and one boy right? 5 pregnant girls. Just lettin' you know!!
Add some more plants for cover when you can... something bushy so the little ones have a place to hide while they are snack sized. They will have a better chance of survival that way.
Enjoy! Your Platys are lovely!
(love your sig!)

Yep, that's how I sexed them.. I did ask for 6 males because I wasn't ready for the whole breeding thing and didn't know at the time how to tell, so trusted my LFS (more fool me!!) But I'm definitely not taking them all back! I might take the male back (sob!) and get another female or 3.. lol I'll also ask them if they can take the fry if they make it through... I know now that I could expect fry for at least the next few months, so I think I'll get another tank for a fry tank.. It's not fair on the poor wee things to be born and then eaten!

Thank you for the compliments

I agree with you on the fry! I think something so tiny, cute and alive deserves a chance at life too.
So much for 6 boys eh? Didn't you know that fish tanks also multiply?
