the tank has been cycled completely for about a week. Her gills were red before I even brought her home. Im thinkin its natural color.

I moved her to the bigger tank and removed the betta but now the she (the prenant platy) isnt eating. She eats then spits it out (flakes)

Most fish do better with a variety of different foods. You might wish to try offering something different and see what the fish responds to. I feed Frozen brine shrimp, bloodworms, flake food, pellet, tubifex, and algae wafers.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

My new platy eats the flakes sometimes then sometimes spits it out. The pregnant one just pecks out then spits out. They some messy eaters.

Is it natural for a pregnant fish to not eat before giving birth? 8)

Yes. At this moment, the fish is stressed so providing plenty of plants will give her comfort before she drops her fry.

I'm ready for the pressure.
The drama and the pleasure!
If there is one thing I want to see here, it's HUMOR.
I believe I can fly!
I believe I can touch the sky!
I think about it every night and day!
I stand in awe of my body.

she might be a tiny bit stressed from the move i dont now, but just keep watching her, fish can go a while without eating, and she might be dropping soon, is she square? oh and the gills (dont know if the question was already answered) but my platies have always had red gills ive read that its healthy, as alot of my fish have always had redish gills. good luck with the fry :D
