I have a peacock bass that will eat nothing but live food. I have tried pellets, flakes, or anything and he will not eat them. I want to breed my own food for him to save money and to prevent risk of disease. He is currently about 2.5 inches. What would be the best species to breed in like a 10 or 20 gallon tank?
Have you tried chopped frozen krill or shrimp, or earthworms ? Bloodworms are also hard for most fish to lay off of. Peacocks are predatory fish and as it grows and assuming you have the needed room for fish to grow, It will need much larger fish if fish are going to be offered, than anything you could breed in 20 gal tank. IO would for now,try the above mentioned foods and see if the fish will accept them.
