need to identify.

I have a male platy. his face is orange, yellow from his gills to mid body then black spots to solid black then his tail fin is red then clear. if you can get to my face book page you can see him. Donald Pottorff Jr is my name on facebook. also a femail that is orange with black spots... maby a sunset platy? My other is a red wagtail female.

there a lot of different platys due to them being so common in the aquarium trade. It could be a cross between a sunset and a red wag. Once you start breeding them you will have some other varieties of colors. My favourite are the candy cane and Oreo Platy , both have great markings.

well he looks like a piece of candy corn. I hope of he ever figures the mating thing out that his offspring is as colorfull. He has two nice looking females in the tank with him but he has not shown much interest yet. but i havent been watching that much so who knows.

Just to share an image of this platy I am wondering if his small size may be a birth defect. he is alot smaller then my other platies but one of the best tempermental fish i have. he is a very happy little guy and the star of my tank.

Little dude may be a daddy as i found a Platy fry with an orange face and the rest of it is yellow. the rest from that batch must have eather been aborted or eaten. so proud of the little guy if so. All my other platy young are sunset.
