Is my platy a girl or boy?

I just got a platy yesterday and i wanted to know if it is a girl or a boy. If it is a girl, it was in a tank with boys and girls so is there a possibility that it might be pregnant? Thank you.

Platy in photo is female and if kept with males,,is most likely pregnant.
Is what these fish do (make little fish)
If you plan on keeping babies,,then providing some floating cover in the form of artificial or real plant's will assure that more than a few babies survive .
Livebearer's have no paternal instinct and adult's will happily eat newborn fish they can catch.
These fish can quickly over populate tank's smaller than 40 gallons.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

Yup - it's a she. You can tell by the roundness of her fins under her belly. The males have a swordlike fin underneath.

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

If you want to raise them, get some duckweed for floating, or moss attached to driftwood for places for the frys to hide.
