my mollie was yellow

i was just wanting to know what happend to my balloon mollie, i had had it for a while and after a bit it started turning colour, it was a dark orangy yellow colour and then it started turing white, and not long after this, about 2-3 weeks it died, which was last night, the water was fine no defects, so what could have this been ??

Mollies ,platy's,swordtails, and guppies are livebearers and need basic alkaline water with pH of 7.4 to 8.0. Ammonia, and nitrites must read zero and nitrAtes should be 20ppm or lower. Temperature range for mollies and guppies is a bit warmer than platy's and swordtails. Mollies seem to do best with temps around 80 degrees along with guppies.Platy's and swordtails would much prefer temps of 74 to 77 degrees.
Your tank I believe is still cycling according to your other posts and you will need to perform water changes to keep ammonia levels from becoming lethal. Use a good dechlorinator such as PRIME and get a test kit that uses drops of liquid and test vials such as the API freshwater Master kit. Test strips are notoriously innaccurate. Feed the fish SMALL amount of food once each day or every other day and continue to test for ammonia and nitrites as was explained in a previous post until your tank matures or (cycles) Read up on cycling a new tank or aquarium. Process can take four to eight weeks.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.
