Well my Mollie had about 40 babies and I have managed to save them all. Thanks for the advice. It just looks as though another one of my mollies is about to drop as well , I will keep a few of them but the rst will go to good homes no doubt.

Exactly how do you know when your Mollie is about to give birth?

she was heavily pregnant, then she started to square off at the bottom of the belly , it was only by chance we seen the first born then watched the others, she was hanging around the heater for a while and kept going to the top of the tank then back to the bottom to give birth 2-4 at a time you will soon know as you will see the little babies darting around your tank

I guess there is not real way to really prematurely tell if the fish is about to give birth then.

Our algae eaters laid eggs and hatched yesterday, I thought it was our platy or molli giving birth. Their all pregnant.
