Moving fish

We are moving this coming weekend and I'm trying to figure out the best way to transport the fish. None of them are really "touchy" fish the ones I am really worried about are the fry that are 4 weeks and then some that are 1 week. Its kinda cold outside to. Anyone know what the best way to do this would be? Where we are moving is only about 20-30 minutes away.

the absolute best way to move fish is to go to go to your LFS ask them for a large sized styrofoam livestock container. (they should give them to you for free). Then, ask them for a few fish bags and bag ties (or just tie them yourself. Tell them your moving!!! Go back to your place. Stop Feeding your fish 3 days in advance! Take Water from your tank and put it in the bags. Add just enough water for the fish to swim in the rest just air. place the fish in the bags and tie them shut. If it is bumpy near you you can but styrofoam peanuts in ther to. Also if you are that worried about the cold you may purchace heat packs from Target or something (tape the heat packs on the lid not against the bags directly. Seal The Lid Shut with tape and be sure that is the first thing you set up when you arrive. This setup should keep the fish alive for about 3-4 hourrs AT MAX!! DON"T PUSH THE TIME TO FAR! IF YOU HAVE A PORTABLE AREATOR PLACE THE FISH IN A RUBBERMAID CONTAINER AND LET THE WATER BE AERATED UNTIL YOU GET THE TANK RESET. TAKE ALL THE TANK WATER OR AT THE VERY LEAST HALF IN BARRELS OR SOME SORT OF CONTAINER

Good advice! You can also order heat packs for shipping fish from Marine Depot.com.
