congrats!

as I type this I am sitting watching my very pregnant orange balloon molly waiting for babies!!

I can't help you with the care, but the only thing I would worry about is the amount of ammonia that could build up in a jar with no filtration exchange ect. but I am new to this so IDK

I just bought a mesh filter cover for my 30g today and have lost of plants hoping that a few of my babies will survive their parents and aunts in the main tank... but still debating.. I almost bought a mesh breeder trap today but opted out, I don't want to be over run with babies right away.

Can you post some pics of the babies???

Firstly Congratulations!!
A sponge filter would be good!! Putting them in the 7 g would be a good idea.. But is there anything else in the tank? Are you going to keep them all??? Congrats!! Again...

Thank you for your reply :) I will keep changing the water from my cycled main aquarium water. I hope it will be alryt for them :) Yes I will put some pics of them soon. So keep and eye on this thread :D

Thanks mate. I have cleaned my 7 Gallon tank. it has nothing right now. No Fish. Gravel and some Floating Hornwort. but I am really confused are they going to search for food on top or bottom ? what about water them ? and what about the water height ? If they all survive I will keep them all

Lol thats alot of mollies plus they will interbreed!! I will half fill or 3 quarters fill it.... Both!! Feed them crushed baby fish food almost like powder. Just get the tank going!! LOL

From what I have read they grow pretty quickly and it should only be a few weeks before you can add them back with the parents so your plan sounds good to me.

the hornwart should help absorb some of the waste as well.

Cant wait for pics, I keep hearing how cute molly fry are!

I have also been reading that since mollies are mostly plant eaters that they are the least likely of the popular livebearers to eat their young.... hopefully its true since I plan to keep mine with the parents but I guess we will find out how many of my fry get eaten in the main tank with 5 adult mollies.

Post again in a few days so I can see how fast they grow.

I thought for sure I was going to wake up to balloon molly babies this morning... but no i think something is wrong with her or she is having trouble.

Water from birth tank and the 7 gallon!! They will need room to grow! Will be less stressed and grow faster in same conditions as original tank if possible. You don't want to loose the ones you have left to shock. And don't overfeed them. Do add a fine mist air stone for oxygen.

Now the experts can correct me or add more information for you. Are you going to sell or trade off with a FS for credit?

They are so cute!! Just bought a lil baby black mollie and a 1inch or so white speckled molly!! And i asked for a male baby black 1 and he gave me a female!!!

:) I will post some new pics soon. 14 of them still alive. They look fine eating and pooping. 3 of them have tiny black Dalmatian spot.

Don’t worry your molly will give baby soon. Sometimes they take a little extra time more then they usually need.

I am going to get 3 more female mollies. I love would love to see more baby mollies in my tank. Fish store guyz always do that!! Some days ago I asked for 1 female and 1 black molly he gave me 2 male!! I can identify male and female but as I was in hurry he gave me 2 male. Then I called and said whatever you did really made me upset when I put them in my aquarium too bad you gave me 2 males. Then he said sorry Its a mistake. Then I said ok I will accept your sorry If you give me 2 female molly in return of one black molly :P then he said ok .......
