I can't help you with the care, but the only thing I would worry about is the amount of ammonia that could build up in a jar with no filtration exchange ect. but I am new to this so IDK
I just bought a mesh filter cover for my 30g today and have lost of plants hoping that a few of my babies will survive their parents and aunts in the main tank... but still debating.. I almost bought a mesh breeder trap today but opted out, I don't want to be over run with babies right away.

Gravel and some Floating Hornwort. but I am really confused are they going to search for food on top or bottom ? what about water them ? and what about the water height ?
