Cool Molly fry

This is a change to my previous posts, Iím not going to complain about the death of my guppies, noooo now Iím going to complain about the amount of molly fry I have!
This is the second batch of fry that Iíve had since I brought my mollies home (02/09/11), I now have 14! 5 which are 1 Ĺ weeks old and 9 which are 6 days old. Now I know fry are very small but I can easily tell they are ALL female. Is it the parameters of my water that are influencing the gender? I would love to give some of them away as I already 5 in my tank but unfortunately I donít know anyone with a tank and I donít feel comfortable giving them to a shop to use as fish food nor do i want to get a fish to hunt and kill the fry (itís cruel).
Oh, did I mention my white molly is pregnant again? Lol Iíve had terrible luck with my guppies but the mollies are thriving!!

Perhaps you have a free local newsletter you could contact about giving them away to a "good home" or maybe the local school has a notice board.
What are you going to do when the next lot arrive?
P.S. I wish my eyesight was as good as yours!

You can also check with your local fish store to see if they will take the fry from you when they get large enough.

I am not sure how quickly molly fry grow, but I do know with platys that it takes 3 to 4 months before they become sexually mature. When they are younger they will all look like they are females until the male's anal fin begins to change.

i'm fairly certain i read somewhere that livebearers are born "female" then as they reach maturity some percentage of them "become" male. i believe this means that the sex-identifying traits (anal fin) don't develop as male until they are a little older.
