Molly breeding trap

I have a plat lyretail mollie that is pregnant. I put her in a plastic floating breeding trap to save her fry. I didn't bother putting the lid on top until she jumped out of the tank one day while I was feeding them (this was about a week ago) and it didn't seem to stress her out too much. What I need to know is if there is any good way to clean the fish waste out w/out stressing the mollie so that she aborts her pregnancy. Currently I turn it sideways so the waste will go to the bottom and i siphon it out of the cracks on the side. Does this stress the fish out or is it OK to dothis? Thanks for your help!

Well I have to recommend not using the little platic ones. She jumps out for a reason, stress.

The best one sI have found if I use one anymore are the net breeders. Put some elodea/Anacharis in them to give her some comfort and a place for the babies to hide and I have had great success with the suriving, too good of survival rates actually.

This also allows the waste to get through the bottom of the netting once it gets broken up by her swimming. Very little waste buildup and alywas has fresh water flowing through the net.
