Mollies..playing? Fighting? Mating dance?

Two of my mollies are what seems to be playing..
They are tail to head, and spinning in circles, sometimes breaking off, but then coming back to circling!

What are they doing?

One of them is definitely a female, and the other one im pretty sire is a female.

The females are bigger than the males, right?

Yes, but unless you are talking about fish you know are the same age, or fully grown, size doesn't mean anything. livebearers are very easy to sex - just look at the pelvic fins.

Sorry for all the posts!!

Read the sexing mollies thread, and it was two females that were circling..

Ha! Or maybe those mollies arequite confused! lol

I just want to make sure they werent being too aggressive towards each other.

Ive never kept fish together, except goldfish/koi, and i never saw any of them really interact with each other, except the littlest koi and the medium koi, who were in a seperate tank, the littler one just followed the bigger around everywhere..like a little shadow!

Are mollies and guppies playful fish?

And with the mating thing, i thought maybe the females have to "out dance" each other for the male? I know alot of animal species do that..

Yes, but it's generally the males that have to out dance each other for the females interest.

Yeah, I guess some might say they are playful. I don't really see it that way, but anthropomorphism runs rampant in this hobby so you would certainly not be alone in thinking that.
