It would work as a temporary measure to get you by until you can get some food meant for Mollies/Livebearers.
But I would not recommend it long term, Their health will suffer, Leaving them open for possible health problems that will cost you more in the long run.
LOL, thanks guys, I wasn't actually going to go that route but had pondered it do to the fact that they are called tooth carps. I would rather go more naturel diet when I get back into the hobby.
There is not much difference in the foods mollies and goldfish eat. What goldfish eat is absolutely fine with mollies. Goldfish are omnivorous but do need high fiber intake in order to avoid floaty issues. You cannot feed mollies with flakes and other floating foods if you are trying to keep round bodied fancy goldfish with them. The latter are unable to tolerate floating foods without going belly up.
