I have in my work tank 2 male and 1 felmare guppy. You'd think the female would be getting chased and beat up on but it's the opposite that! My female won't leave the 2 males alone. They keep running and she just chases and pushes them around. What's going on? I'm almost thinking of getting another pair of males to put in there so my 2 boys get a break to breath!

Also Mrs. Fatty for my other post had babies last night and my guppy at home lost total interest in his girlfriend and started chasing the sword like he would the female guppy. That would be interesting, a orange sword and purple guppy mix?! Is that even possible? What's going on with my guppies?

livebearers will sometimes interbreed but only certain ones.

platties and swords will interbreed as they are from the same family. mollies and guppies can sometimes interbreed but this is much rarer.

my male swordtail was constantly chasing my nolly as if he was attempting to mate her but the"deed" would never be completed

that is strange behaviour indeed with your guppies. aoa gave the best guess i can think of which is that the males pestered her so much that she has just now had enough. instead of getting more males, i would recommend more females but again its just a guess.

They are very strange little fish but I love them. I think the guy at home is just a "frisky" (trying to keep it PG rated!) little guy. He was chasing all the females last night. However i woke up this morning and found 8 baby guppies in the tank so maybe he just knows and gets crazy when new babies are coming? My boys at work are hiding in the corner now. She won't let them go anywhere.

You'll need more females than males. 2-3 females per male is a good sex ratio recommended.
