livebearers won't eat bloodworms

as the topic indicates, my livebearer fish (platys and mollys) won't eat frozen bloodworms. i've tried a couple different brands and they completely ignore it. they eat flakes on a daily basis, but i would like to give them something different every now and then.
can anyone advise if this is normal for them, even though their user profiles say they eat worms, or do i just have some picky fish?
also, if they aren't keen on the worms, any recommendations for something to give them besides their boring old flakes?
Thanks in advance!

Hey Ross.
My Calico Mollies love frozen Blood worms. They will also eat frozen Brine Shrimp but I'm told they are kind of like filler... not very nutritious. lol.
Are you throwing the cube/chunk in frozen or thawing them out first in some tank water? Mine will eat them either way. Mine also can be found crowded around algae disks and sinking shrimp pellets. They just eat everything.
Keep trying... skip a day maybe... get them good and hungry. It's frustrating to watch them all spit out the same piece of food!!! Good luck.

Hm, my live-bearing fish seem to love their blood worms. But if you are not having luck with them, I would suggest trying some brine shrimp. All my fish go nuts over live/thawed brine shrimp I also vary their diet with fresh veggies, algae wafers, omega one flake, and freeze-dried tubifex worms.

Most of the livebearer's would do best with Spirulina flake ,Omega one Veggie flakes,Dried marine algae, and occasional treat of blood worms, brine shrimp,Mysid shrimp, plankton, Daphnia.
Or you could mix all of the above in tuppeware bowl and keep in the fridge.
This way they would be sure to recieve a little bit of everything.
Best to buy smaller container's of food so that it doesn't lose freshness before empty.(keeping in fridge helps)

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.
