Least killifish

Hello everybody. I was thinking about getting a couple least killifish for my ten gallon tank but was a bit worried about their reproduction. With a molly and a few bumblebee gobies, do you think their population would be kept more or less in check or would they get out of control?

I breed these little guys by the bucket full and yes the molly and platys will keep them in check. They are actually very cool little fish to work with. I can tell you that is you want to raise more, just fill a 5 gal bucket 3/4 full of auarium water, add some duck weed or not, and a trio or hit female. Within 60-90 days you will have 8-12 fish. I bred them in a kiddie pool and look out I have 100s.

If you're looking to purchase some I have a bunch, so p.m. if interested. Just and FYI, they live just fine with Endlers and don't cross with them.

These are awesome little fish because they breed by superfetation. Unlike other livebearers who have pretty large broods, heterandia formosa give birth to a few large fry every day during their breeding period.

EDIT: If you are really worried about the population, I would suggest getting a different kind of mosquito fish, the gambusia affinis. This one is larger but sometimes more readily available. It is also highly cannibalistic and tends to eat its own fry quite aggressively so you would never have to worry about the population getting out of control.

I hate to be a critic, but gambusia affinis tend to really aggressive and may rip the platys to shreads. I have had them kill 1/2 convicts and 2" belonasox.
