thats so cool you all are so lucky u have money to buy stuff. 2 weeks ago we bought a 46 gallon tank and we have 2 red flame gouramis 4 swordtails(3 female one male)3 cories and 2 angelfish. i got my 2nd and third female swordtails 2 days ago they were pregnant. i convinced my parents to get me pregnant ones haha. i got them because my male was fighting my female for some reason maybe trying to mate with her im not sure. my neon one gave birth yesterday morning and i was at school. my dad told me she had two and the male ate one of them and i saw one when i got home. i dont have java moss or dense vegetation in my tank. i didnt know she was gonna give birth the next day!! but we have rocks in there for them to hide under hopefully. she still has a gravid spot so im still waiting for her to have more. IM SO EXCITED I WANT TO SEE MORE!!1 havent seen any in about 26 hours. thx for listening i dont know how to create my own thread how do i do it?

Were you able to post a thread? My fry are about 1 month+ and starting to color up. They are out and about swimming with everyone else. I never separated them as I too was unaware the mother was ready to drop. They hid in the fake plants and the other fish didn't stalk them too bad. There are 5 of them and they are the cutest!!!!

Thanks for the congrats redlessi....the red sword is still dropping fry....you've become quite the advisor lately i've noticed....i've not been on a LOT due to pick up of activity at work, and of course taking care of the pups, cat, and fishies at home but i check in from time to time and see you've been giving advice...i'm still learning too and read everything i can get my hands on :D

and biokid101 yeah we're lucky but a lot of what we've gotten lately has been craigslist finds, yardsale shopping and luckily one of my co-workers keeps salt water aquariums and he's donated (for $5!!!) a 20 gal long towards our nurseries...maybe two tanks, he hasn't decided if he wants to do something with the other one.

So over lunch I went to feed the fry in the nursery tank, checked the red sword birthing tanks and found at least 5 more fry have been dropped in one! Woo-hoo! Transferred a few to the nursery tank. We're going to start moving the larger fry out of the nursery into the grow out tank as they're getting quite large (about 1 month old now) and the new fry keep coming. I really hope the albino blues start dropping again soon. Two of them are very squared off and look close to ready....

I think it has...and something tells me you're like me and will research something to death before ever trying yourself much less suggesting it to someone. Fishin Pole is crazy happy with the way I've been emersing myself in the hobby.
