I have a 20 gallon tank with a female betta fish and three feeder guppies. One of the female guppies had babies, but the betta (or maybe even the baby's parents) gobbled them up after a short period of us not feeding them. We were so disappointed, but one of the guppies had another baby shortly afterwards. I think that baby might have gotten eaten as well, but it's hard to tell since they are so small.

I would recommend that you make sure the other fish are well-fed during the day so it won't be tempted enough to eat your fish's babies since they easily fit into the mouth of most adult-sized fish.

Good luck!

rams are very easy to bread but their fry are very small. If not rams try kribs. Bettas are kind of easy.
