I'm sorry. I tried to stay out but punky doesn't seem to want anybody's input. Besides, punky will do what punky wants regardless of what anyone says.

no im just saying i looked at walmart when i bought my fish and it told me a minimum of 10 gallon tank for the fish i bought so its not like i went and bought a bunch of fish that was to big for my tank if i was giving miss information its not my fault it said minimum of 10 gallon tank. I have spent alot of money on them though to just give them all away now. The one molly i bought had a missing gill cover that ive been treating with melafix shes doing really good and recovering. I have spent alot of money on these fish.

Can you try to get a couple angles of the pleco for pics? It might be a dwarf species.. 10g isnt ideal for the dwarfs nor is it recommended yet it wouldnt kill them if that indeed is something like a clown pleco or whatever.

I am sorry if I skipped an answer somewhere.. But do you plan to sell the fry? Or get a new tank?

Trusting Walmart for your information is not the best. I think Walmart is the pits. I haven't even been in one in over 2 years. Now for the good part...however misguided (by Walmart's misinformation) you are doing those fish a favor if they live to full life expectancy in your care. What everyone is trying to tell you is that pleco is not going to be able to do that in a 10 gallon tank. I love plecos myself but only when they're bigger. They can get to be 3 feet long. I realize that you spent money on these fish but everyone is telling you what is likely to happen if you don't rethink your stocking decisions. They're only trying to help you help your fish. At this juncture you can't be selfish about it. You really should think about rehoming your pleco sooner rather than later.

this is why it is best to always research species before buying them.walmart is less credible than pet stores for information about fish. and unfortunately a lot of pet stores are full of misinformation.

i know it can be upsetting to hear that there are potential problems with your set up. it is my intention (and others too) to educate new fish keepers to potential problems.
most of us have been through the same thing.

try not to take it personally. i for one do not want to see you or your fish struggle. that is the main reason that i am on this forum.i do not want to see people make the same mistakes that i have in the past. nor do i want you to spend your time being frustrated about sick fish and water issues.i want you to enjoy your fish.

i ,nor anyone else can make you listen.perhaps it is time to take a different path.

try doing general google searches about mollies, plecos etc.their care and housing requirements. try many different sites and draw your own conclusions from that. there will be some discrepancies, depending on the site. i am confident that you will find that walmart was incorrect.

we will still be here waiting to help you in your endeavor.

save up a bit of cash and look on craigslist for a good deal. otherwise petco has their $1/gallon sale 3-4 times a year. i believe the next one is coming up in a few weeks. after that there is usually one in the end of june, august ( not sure on this one) and one just after christmas.
