I am confused... She only had 13 and she still looks pregnant?

I have a set of 3 guppies. I have 2 males (one fancy, one feeder) and a Fancy Female. She had 13 fry (only 2 survived) around 2 weeks ago, and yet she looks pregnant, still. Her gravid spot comes and goes, and i am rather confused. I don't know what to do! She also refuses to eat when I feed her.

P.S.
1)Its a 1.5 gallon tank
2)Water stays around 72-76 degrees
3)Water changes happen every week.

First things first... Your tanks pretty over stocked.. If your planning on keeping any fry your fish produce then you will need to upgrade to at least a ten gallon, or a 5 will do for just your adult fish. Also your fish are tropical fish and require a heater and a temperature of 78 degrees.

Now to answer your question... Guppies like all live bearers are able to store sperm, so after being pregnant once they are able to produce many batches of fry from that one insemination. You can expect your guppies to continue having fry for the next little while. Also your fry probably didn't survive due to living in a 1.5 gallon bowl and only getting water changes once a week. If a betta lived in a 1.5 I would say water changes every other day... But with 3 guppies I say water changes everyday until you can upgrade. Fry are VERY sensitive to water conditions and cannot survive in the extreme conditions adult guppies can survive. Just one last thing, the female to male ratio is 1 male to 2-3 females. Males have been known to harass females to death if this ratio isn't used.

And just before you laid dead weight upon its shores, I stung you in the face for that's the nature of my core.

Oh my, thank you. I was curious, but where could I get my hands on some heaters, filters, and 5$10 gallon tanks for cheap? I'm only 13, so i get not much money, and I was really curoius.

Well, like I mentioned before there's always craigslist.com. You could talk to your parents and see if that's an option. Check the paper for garage sales, though I don't know about where you live but it's freezing here in MN, so there aren't to many of those now. Also just check the paper in the misc section or household stuff. If you live in a city, your chances are better of finding something probably. Then there's always walmart. But if I were you, I wouldn't really bother breeding them at this point... you should earn some money and try and get the heaters and filters and bigger tanks for all your fish. :) The beta would especially be appreciative.

I don't think there was a betta solacetiger... Lol bad example sorry. I sound have said if one guppy lived in a 1.5 I would do every other day water changes. But with three then daily would be best.

Oops, I'm sorry Fizzy. I know her on a different game site that we both play, and I invited her here. That's why I mentioned the betta. Sorry for the confusion, lol.

Hahaha so wait... Now there is a betta? Weird, I'm pretty confused now haha.

Hows your betta doing? Do you have a heater for him too?

Welcome to the fish forum by the way

That would be awesome guppy, in the meantime, just do your best to keep your fishies in the warmest area possible, and keep up with water changes. Maybe you could also do chores for your neighbors and things to to earn some moola.
