Hi I got two female platies and one male about 2 weeks ago. I had one random fry that died because of an accident, but my female looks fat. I don't know if I'm just imagining it, or if she's actually pregnant. How fat are they when they're actually pregnant. Also, people talk about a "gravid" spot or something. How big is that when they're pregnant?
Yeah, I can try, but I can't get any good ones. I'm also still figuring this whole thing out, so I'll have to figure out how to do it. I can probs do it tomorrow. But she basically looks plump, to describe it in a word. If you look at the post, "look at my pregnant platy please" she's way fatter than that.
Well I had a molly that was pregnant but pretty much maintained the same weight, so maybe she's just overweight. Chances are though that she probably is pregnant...just because she's a live bearer and they tend to do that kind of thing a lot.
Okay, one more question. I have the babies (now there are five of them) in a net breeder at the top of the tank. Is it bad for them to be right under the light like that? They're on the side with the opening, but they're still almost directly under the light. Thanks!
I don't think it's bad for them? I'm not sure though, but it wouldn't seem to be detrimental to their health.
