Haha, fish can be tricky little buggers to photograph
I tend to stalk my tanks with the camera almost constantly, and even then I still only get one or two really good shots

Fluffy(my Gourami)got a little possessive over my hand while I was hand feeding the other night
The type of camera helps too. I usually snag my dads fancy Nikon and go nuts I've got a nice Pentax, but it doesn't capture the fish as I would like it too. And forget about trying to take pictures of my Angel with it, the Angel is so shiny that they never come out right xD

If you have a small tank, put her in there, but use some of her water from the tank she is in now, make her feel like she just had a water change :)
