Is it ok to put a regular guppy, a fancy guppy, and 2 endler's gupperys in a 5g tank (sand substrate w/ MTS, and maybe ramshorn)? I want to put guppies in my empty tank, and I want some variety.
You could try ,but I would be negiligent by not mentioning that males of nearly all livebearer's will in the absence of females, nip at each other. The larger the tank ,the easier for the fishes to avoid each other.
I would see that the tank had plenty of floating plants for fishes to escape/hide if needed.
No, they certainly won't. They are a shoaling species, which means (usually, and in this case) that they need at least 6 of their own kind. Black Skirts reach 2 1/2", being among the larger tetra, so a 20 gallon tank would be minimum.
btw, this is a really old thread for anyone wondering why I am asking about guppies LOL.
