Guppy bully!

why is my male guppy always bullying my neon tetras?

He probably views them as competition. You should have 2 females for every male this helps to keep them occupied. I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you have his girlfriends, tetras in general are much faster than guppies

Might be that their coloration is making the guppy aggressive.

guppy vs tetra

I lost some fish following a ghastly ammonia situation that is now thankfully under control. Now I have one neon tetra, 3 male guppies, 1 dwarf gourami and 3 swordtails in a 130 litre tank. I'm cutting down feeding as I think overfeeding led to the ammonia problem. But the guppies look really hungry now. I don't want to add any more tetra friends until the nitrite levels have been fully stable for a couple of weeks.

Question: Will the guppies eventually eat that poor lone tetra?
