Talking Guppy Breeding Question

So... A few months ago I purchased a single female guppy. (first fish in a new aquarium)
She ended up being pregnant, and I still have one of her babies.

He is the most perfect, beautiful male guppy I've ever seen. His personality is also amazing, he's adorable and playful.

How best can I reproduce his characteristics, namely the physical ones (color and pattern as well as body proportions etc)

I know he won't live forever and truly want his genetic lineage to go on.

So... what type of female should I breed him with (assuming he's fertile)

Here's a pic just to see the color:

He has white patterns on his body, so unique!

Thanks for any info you can give me.

do u still have the mother? you should try line breeding - mate him back to his mother. this may not produce the desired characteristics right away but if you keep really good track of the offspring his traits will come back down the line. cull the undesired offspring. Not only should you remove any deformed fish - you should remove all the less colorful fishes as well and fish with undesirable traits. you can do this gently by putting them in a bag full of aquarium water and placing it in the freezer.

His mother, regrettably, died. He's actually a little bit deformed himself, but I think it's because when he was developing, the water quality wasn't great. His spine is an eensy bit bent.

Is there any type of guppy that is considered 'neutral'? Should I try to find a female whose male siblings are orange and yellow? Thanks for your response!

Hey how are you today ? Sory for the late responce but I have some advice that might help .
Your guppy is very pretty I think from the pic its probbaly a tequila sunrise guppy I would try breeding him to a female of that breed , and not just one he can handle 3 or 5 females all by himself lol and do just fine I keep 3 females to each male and they do fine . The more females you have the better your odds of having a similar will be also you could put a yellow fin guppy in the mix just suggestins mind you .
Not a big fan of the freezer bag idea , I know you cant keep a few hundred though you could check into freinds that may want a few and post it on here it will be a chore it will be a pain but you can find a place for them a local store may buy them from you not for much mind you but they may take them as feeders or if they are old enough to show color they may take them as seelers but you need to be checking into it now.
I hope this helps
God bless and good luck Charlie & family
