Go with a all male tank of livebears as the male guppies are prettier then the females and if you do not want loads of fry every month all male take would be a good choice as you need 2 females to 1 male or 3 to 1 male so the female does not get stressed out by the male chasing her around the tank to mate.

I like keeping my females seperate in another tank. You can put them in to mate for the day and seperate them. The females are good in a community tank as some of the babies will be eatten and that way the population of baby fish stays in check.

Just remember not to crowd them in your tank as the Guppies like good water qty. and room to swim. If you have alot of fish you need to do 20-25% water changes once a week to keep the water good and do not over feed them. Maybe once a day and skip one day is a good way to keep the water good. Maybe get a bottom feeder like a bushy nosed pleco/ a good algae cleaner and uneatten food cleaner as they do not grow really big 3-4"max or a dwarf catfish. Snails are good also but some will eat any live plants you might have and their number will get out of control.
