Question Guppies with Dwarf Gourami

Hi, I was just wondering if a dwarf gourami would be a good tankmate to get for my guppies in their 16 gallon tank. I only have about 7 adult guppies but I have too many baby guppies and I need a bigger fish to take care of this issue. I have a LOT of plants (about 15) and several caves for the gourami to hide in. I just don't want my adult guppies to get terrorized. So what's your opinion? Would the dwarf gourami eat babies but ignore the adults or do the exact opposite?

If I were to give my opinion, I would say that the two species of fish will be fine for each other. The dwarf gouramis and the guppies should leave each other alone, but the dwarf gouramis probably will eat the guppy fry if given the chance (any fish would, actually).

So what about a bunch of guppies, a few swordtails, and a single dwarf gourami? Would they all be compatible and eat eachothers' fry?

Guppies and swordtails are very good tankmates for each other. If I were to give my opinion on the pairing of guppies and swordtails, I would say they are the same fish with changes in appearance. A single dwarf gourami -- when I have kept dwarf gouramis, I found out that they tended to die off if they were not in pairs. So I would say get a female dwarf gourami and a male dwarf gourami. Also, guppies, swordtails, and gouramis are all compatible for each other.
