How many guppies can i have in a 10 gal with about 6-7 live plants maybe more. I have heard that they breed often too. Is that true

Female guppies will all be pregnant when brought home unless they have been raised in a convent. The time between fry drops for a guppy is typically about 28 days and there should be from 15 to 40 fry each time. As you can imagine, it does not take long to overpopulate a 10 gallon. The first drop might well do that.

Start off with a trio of one male and two females. Then when the babies come either sell them or get another tank.

Or get second species of fish to keep down the population, it will lessen the need to sell the ever expanding guppy population.
