The fastest way to increase the population of your 50 is to give the new fry lots of places to hide and keep the adults well fed. In a little while, you will be wondering what n the world to do with all the extras. Fry born in your own tank will not be dying a week later, they will be growing and filling up the tank.

Buying from local fish stores is a waste of money in many cases, I has so much trouble with those fish dying it just about drove me nuts trying to get my starter fish,,
If your gonna buy fish find someone local that has raised young of their own and buy from them,
You'll have so much better luck you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner, and oft times getting from a local neigbour or such they will give them to you for free or way cheaper then the pet stores...

and the best thing of all is your keeping your money local, not sending it to some supplier overseas somewhere.

Always in NEED & looking for more Tanks!
