my females are starting to hate each other. the label on my one fish said Swordtail and i am starting to think its a molly because its stomach is big but it wont give birth. whats wrong with her?
can you take a pic? Some times the first time they get to stressed out and will end up aborting they fry. Then other times they just take there time. How long have you had these fish?
im sorry but i cant take a pic. and ive had these fish since september 22,09 and today is october 1st. she is somewhat smaller today i think she gave birth over night but im not sure. i cant find any babies around. i never found any babies im gonna have to get a new tank if i want some baby fry. so u think thats a good idea?
where are you from. yes a small ten gallon would be ok to put fry in but you will be quikly over run by them. they multiply fast. lol she may have ben bloated and released some bloatnis .
oh thats true i live in pennsylvania. she is more calm today. i cant find any fry and the dead fry was clearly visiible. but my dad is sending me money tomorrow so im gonna get a 10 gal tank hopefully with a pregnant mom
Do you have a walmart near you? They have a whole 10 gallon or 5 gallon kit for 30 to 40 bucks. I would leave the fish in the tank, then when they have fry net them out and put the fry in the 10 gallon.
but usually i am at school or sleeping when they give birth and i cant save any fry. i only saw one fry in my time of my tank and i dont think it made it unless its hiding
You would be suprised how well they can hide. Do you have any plants fake or real. in your tank? If so put them all tightly together in one corner of the tank so the fry can go hide in there if you want i can post a pic of what i mean by tightly together. What all for decor do you have in your tank? What kind of substrate? What kind of fish? What size of tank? Then i could better help you aquascape your tank to save some fry. It takes time for your fish to birth out fry. Some get lucky and will have some fry the first few weeks they have the fish. I didnt get my first batch for like 2 months of me haveing the fish.
