This is a discussion on feeding fry ???....:) within the Livebearers forums, part of the Freshwater and Tropical Fish category; -->
i feed all my The guppy, also known as millionfish, is one of the most popular and recognizable freshwater fish in the aquarium trade. ...
i feed all my Guppy fry ....flakes tubifex and blood worm but would feeding them just bloodworm make them grow any faster or should i keep them on the food that there having ??
I feed varied foods 4 times a day along with daily water changes to get best fry growth in both my guppies and betta fry. I feed my homemade food and live foods but it can be done with fresh store bought foods too, make sure your fish foods are less than a year old too as the vitamin/mineral are not stable in most foods, water changes and size of grow out tank are big factors in fry growth and development IME not just the food and feeding schedule.
I smallest tank I grow out fry for the first 4 weeks is a 10g then I move them to 20g until they are 8-10 weeks then they go into 55g and 75g tanks, my fry are near fully grown by 12-14 weeks.
Thanks so much for the great information! I have been thinking of investing in another tank for my fry. Tried leaving them in the 55gal, but just couldn'tbring myself to leave them become a possible snack. They are now in a net. What kind of filter do you use?
