Do you know what a good plant is to provide shade and hiding for fish? I dont want it to make shade over the hairgrass but I just want the fish to be able to get out of the light!

If you dont want a surface plant, anubias is really good, it has huge broad leaves. A surface plant would take over pretty quick- but if you don't mind scooping out excess surface plants, water sprite gives a nice effect.

I am going to go with a species of the anubias!! Thanks! Will the shrimp have enough food from foraging in plants, eating flakes that go to the ground, and some delicious little babies? Haha! Thanks so mucha and I am going to order my tank soon!
