Endlers in this size tank?

Hi!
I'm thinking about putting a couple endlers in a 8 gallon tank. This tank will be planted with dwarf hairgrass, driftwood with flame moss, some other tall plants. Do endlers and ghost shrimp go well together? If so, how many shrimp? Could I put 2 females and a male endler in one 8 gallon? Do they reproduce quickly? If so, would I be best to start off with one pair only?

Thank you!

You are starting a lot of threads. Maybe keep it down to one to choose a fish species. :)
Honestly, I would get 3-4 males in your tank. Unlike male guppies, male endlers won't fight with each other. Females are much larger (2-3 times bigger) and uglier, and you will soon be overloaded with fry and won't know what to do with them. Endlers are incredibly peaceful and will not bother your shrimp.

Sorry Olympia! I had made that thread about the tetras but I did more research after and decided against them. I thought that I shouldn't post about Endlers outside of the livebearers section:) But thanks and I will definitely be better about my posts!!

If I had three males and one female would the female get picked on like platties or guppies, etc. even though she is twice as big? I just want to have the option of having my own little babies:)

Thank you so much for all your help in the last couple of days Olympia!

Oh, and if wouldn't the shrimp eat the fry? If I was serious about having a couple more babies then I would put them in a safe place. So, would the shrimp keep the population at bay?

I'm no expert in that.. logic states that she will get harassed by the males.. But on the other hand she is so freaking huge. They might gang up on her. If you want to breed, first make sure you know what you'll do with all the babies (they will grow very fast). Then I'd do 1 male 2 females.
Ghost shrimp will eat any fish fry they can catch. A species like cherry shrimp will not eat fish fry. :)

Endler's livebearer@Everything2.com check out the second to last paragraph of that page! Talks about how endlers's "court" their females. Very cool and makes me happy:)

I want the shrimp to keep the population down by eating the babies haha:) If I wanted to raise a couple then I'd catch some and put them in a breeder place or seperate tank so no worries what so ever with shrimp eating the babies. I just hope they will!

Well by that, I'm guessing harassment shouldn't be a problem. Just keep an eye out on them.
Those males have some pretty good wits, considering the size differences!

I will keep an eye on them! I think I will start with 2 males and 1 female. How many ghost shrimp should I have in the 8 gallon? Do they multiply fast? I really want them to eat the baby endlers to keep the population down. Will they do this? (I sound cruel haha)

They'll eat any weakened fry for sure..
Shrimp don't really have maximum amounts. 10 would be a good place to start. Happy shrimp will multiply.

I will probably start with around 5 shrimp just to keep it safe:) Will they get enough food browsing from the plants, extra flakes that fall to ground, and feeding on some delicious fry?
