Hey! I just bought a really neat piece of drift wood from the pet store and I've been reading that it needs to be water logged so that it will sink. How long do I need to soak it for? I'm assuming it's already been cleaned, since it was at the pet store, but I can't be certain. Any ideas?? Looking to re-vamp my tank and make my huge pleco happy, along with everyone else of course!!
I always boil my wood before putting it in my tank(s) to kill any nasties that might be in or on it. After I boil it I leave it sit in a huge bucket of water. Once it sinks to the bottom it's ready to go into the tank. If your wood floats you might want to use something to weight it down so it'll get waterlogged faster.
If you don't stand up for something you'll fall for anything...
