Damaged tail!

I recently got my first fish almost a week ago for a 10 gal tank. I got two beautiful guppies Mark and George and 2 days ago I noticed george's tail seemed to be a little damaged so I watched them both carefully and today it seems to be worse. I checked the water and everything seemed to be fine and I've been watching them and they like to chase each other around but I haven't seen any fin nipping. Could George be sick? Or is it Mark? Is there anything I can do to help him?

The names of your guppies suggest that they are both males. Although I don't have have much experience with guppies, my experience with platies tells me that males fight and chase each other all the time. When you are near the tank, they might just be waiting for food but when you are away, they start attacking each other. You might need to get four or five females (probably more) to distract the males but even then I don't know if that will stop them from fighting.

You also might need to put in some aquarium salt in case fin rot is setting in, guppies can take salt very well.

Would not add four or five females to a 10 gal tank unless plans are in place for the load's of fry the fish will produce about every three to four week's for each female.(hundred's in no time)
WOULD provide some live or artificial floating plant's so the there are area's for the fish to escape/ rest.
Would NOT add salt, but Would perorm weekly 50% water change from now on .
Male guppies will chase and nip at each other but with five or six in 10 gal ,with the afore mentioned floating cover,,regular water changes,, the males should be fine assuming water parameter's suit them.
Fin rot, fungus, are more symptomatic of water quality issues.
Healthy fishes seldom get either fin rot,or fungus,or many of the other parasitic pathogen's.

You said to do 50% water changes? I've been doing 25%. Also I think I've found the reason for george's tail being damaged. Mark is becoming really aggressive and won't leave him alone so I'm planning on returning mark. And I really don't have the space to get females so I'm planning on sticking with males.
