Crazy sword tail pregnant and she is the only on in the tank!!?

LOL she is not crazy. just soo strange

I moved my swordtail that had ich last week and has been doing super good. Then two days ago i noticed she had a BIG stomach and thought it would just be because she had just eaten. So I did not feed her or the other fish. I wake up and has the stomach half the size as before and did not feed they fishes till just a while ago and she got fatter like my pregnant molly that has been pregnant for like ever(4-5 weeks). The thing is there is two mollies of the same and two ghost shrimp, just added my new betta and 4 more ghost shrimp and two snails. She does poop normally and has no signs of any disease. She is the only sword in there and to see if it makes a diff I had bought her as a breeding pair and the male did die of ich but she survived and had her by herself in the 5 where my first betta is now.

Could she be pregnant because of the molly male or can she store the sperm of the male sword?
Did she over eat?

Sometimes in Livebearers any sperm that didn't make it to the egg can still stay inside the female because of some chemical. If she hasn't given birth yet (depends how long) she may just be overweight.

Overweight? never heard of a fish overweight but i will keep that in mind. Good to know that they can actually hold sperm. Kinda crazy.

Yea, my cousin leant me this book about all kind of fish and it is sooooooo helpful. If fish get too overweight they probably will die (apparently). I hope it all works out.

I don't have any experience with swordtails, but I know there are a few types of livebearers who store sperm and can drop fry multiple times over the course of a few months in the absence of a male.
