Unhappy Chunk missing out of tail

A bit of one of my platys tail has gone. There is nothing in the tank that the fin could have got caught in. Do platys nip each other?? I do hope not as I wanted to put the overspill from my platys tank into the new Betta tank when its operational

Currently empty

It's possible another platy could have nipped it. The fin should grow right back no problem. But keep an eye out for any redness or sign of bacterial infection.
