Black molly preggers

I was just watching my tank as I do most every night looking to make sure my fish counts are still normal. I just noticed that one of my black mollies is plumper than usual, my thoughts immediately went to pregnant molly. I have my 29 gallon set up with 8 neons it. If I do have babies will the neons eat them? Will they be safe if I put all the other mollies in there without the neons? So many questions so little time........

Hi,
Almost all fish will eat baby fry, even the mother will eat their young. I use to take the fry out of the tank & put them in their own 10 gallon tank I already had set up. (Most fish have the majority of their fry in the evening.) However, 20 tanks later, I just leave the baby fry in the same tank with all of the other fish - As long as there are enough hiding places for the babies, some will always survive.

Good luck with your new young! :
