Just picked up 5 black mollies, for now they get my 55 all to themselfs but will be transfered to my 10 once I get my puffers. Do they eat algea? cause I swear it looks like they are eating it off some of my plants. Also do they eat thier young?
Yes to both questions. It is good tohave some green algae for mollys, plus of course vegetable foods (algae or spirulina flakes, granules, some give boiled spinach periodically).
Fry will be eaten to some extent, unless they can hide as in floating plants. Many will likely survive if they have some cover.
Five mature black mollys will fill up a 10g. Plus the fry (I'm assuming you have male/female so there will be fry regularly).
Ya I assume I have male/female they all look the same to me.
If I get the puffers(not 100% sure now) any extra fry will be puffer food
