Black bar endlers

Some months ago I purchased some of these. They have since bred.
The males have all bred to type. The females were the usual plain looking.
I recently noticed a couple of the females have become slightly coloured.
Their dorsal fins appears speckled whilst their tails have developed pale blue streaks
at the top and bottom ( in the same positions where the males are red ).
Is this normal for the females?

No that is not common and I would say highly suspect. Are you sure the fish were pure Endlers? Here in the states we classify pure Endlers as N-Class. I'm just figuring you're from Briton, so I don't know if you use the same term. I have three stains of N-Class Endlers and no female is anything but gray. Even when I cross the lines the females remain the same except for a few that are blond.
