Balloon Molly is giving birth... 99.9% sure! :D

well not really a question, but I wanted to share it with everyone! I saw a fry in my tank, and it looked like a molly fry, but I couldn't find it until about 5 minutes later. I moved it into a breeding box for now. Sooo I noticed my black balloon molly (the only fish I named... her name is rebecca) wasn't coming up to eat. So I looked around for her, and she was eating a little, but didn't come up to eat. Then I noticed the back of her belly looked different, so I thought she was probably the one giving birth. To see, I put her in the breeding box and about 5 minutes later there was a baby at the bottom. I didn't ACTUALLY see her give birth, but I'm pretty sure it was her! :p lol. how else would it get there. So now I have 2 fry from her. She is solid black but her fry are white with black spots... The one she gave birth to in the breeder net had a defect in his/her stomach so I think it's going to die... :(

So she's in the breeder box... I'ma turn the lights off and keep it quiet for her... hopefully she doesn't get too stressed from being in there for a few hours while she gives birth...

That's awesome! I didn't catch my pregnant female soon enough and a few mornings ago I had 30+ fry swimming around the tank!! Have fun with the new babies!

Well, I feel like I've probably stressed her a ton. Trying to get her babies out of the breeder box... hopefully she will only take a few more hours and then be done.

She has given birth to 2 more so far and one of them was deformed again, like the other. It looks to me like they didn't finish developing... She had already started giving birth in the tank so I don't think I stressed her into giving premature birth... This is the first time she has had babies I think and I suspect that is why. :(

I'm going to leave her with her fry and hope she doesn't eat them (sometimes they swim up through the holes)... instead of taking each one out each time... I don't want rebecca to die. :(

sad... she had 4 more babies... only 1 of them is swimming... the other 3 are curled up and dead i think.

awee its ok..she might have had more but ate them?

Maybe. She only has 3 live ones atm... I might release her... it looks like she is getting skinnier she might be done... It was the first birth to my knowledge so thats what I'm guessing went wrong.
