Try wilting your greens. I put them in a cup of water in the microwave until they're very limp. It should be gone by morning if you do that. I know at least some of your snails love greens! :D For some reason they seem to like greens on the verge of being icky, so I pre-ick them the safe way and they're munched up in a jiffy.

I didn't even cook them. I washed lettuce leaves of spinich leves and pierced it with a spoon to make it sink and they ate away at it. If I put it in at dinenr time it was usually gone or at least a good attempt had been made at it by dinenr time.

They also loved courgette and again I never cooked it - just washed it.

I had heard they sometimes liked it cooked a bit but it messes up the water so I thoguht I'd give it a go raw first and they took to it well so I never bothered trying to cook it.

Love green beans is am understatement. 4 of them cut in half so the inside is accessible and they are gone in 6 hours between 9 mysteries and the ramshorns. I will have to give the green another try because I haven't tried them yet with the new ones from Trish but the goldens never touched them, fresh or wilted although I never tried boiled.

I know someone told me this before, but what is courgette?

My babies will eat greens raw too but I recommend wilted for picky eaters. And as with toddlers, you sometimes need to offer foods more than once before they decide they like it. Have you tried peas? Haven't found a snail yet that can resist them. You just need to pop the shell off before you feed them to most snails because the outer membrane is too tough.

Peas, canned or frozen or do it matter?

Julie, I have been looking at that first picture and I have a question. When I look at the trap door, it almost looks like it was only partially attached, was that the case or does it just look weird in the photo? It aso seems like there is a lot of possible disconnection of tissue in the shell where there should have been indication of tissue connections. Was there any symptoms of tissue disconnecting from the inside of the shell?

I use frozen and just warm them up in a cup of hot water. Canned has a lot of sodium and with frozen you can just use what you need.

Not to butt in, but the operculum in the first pic looks fine. :)

I didn't inspect anything after he had died I'm afraid. I get funny about it and my boyfriend always has to remove any dead fishes or snails so I'm afdraid I never got to check him.

A courgette:

Well why didn't you just say Zucchini! lol

I have fed them that also but they don't seem to like it too much recently. I think the really small ones are too fresh and I need to get larger ones so they are alittle softer and maybve a little more ripe.

I remember asking Julie what the heck that was awhile ago! Again, fresh food can be hard for them to eat. Their little mouths work best on soft food. I boil all my veges before I feed them. What I actually do is put them in a cup with water to cover, microwave for a minute, then let sit until they're cool enough to handle.
