What kind of snail is this..and who wants them??

I had 13 Assassin snails in my 55 gal. tank. I had little snails everywhere. My friend thought they were MTS snails. I might have had Assassin snails all along as they are in every tank now. I bought 2 Yo Yo Loaches and took the 13 out. I rehomed 9 of them to my friend that wanted more Assassins as she had a Ramshorn problem in her tank. I still see the 1 egg pods laid on my plants. I must still have a male and a female Assassin Snail. I read somewhere that Assassin Snail come in a few colors. I have dark brown Assassin Snail babies and the dark brown with the Yellow stripe. I have a bunch of tiny assassin snails babies everywhere. Anyone local can have some of the babies for free. I know they are not MTS snails as they do not have the long spiral shell and have the trumpet like dark nose. They do not eat any of my live plants. I only have that problem with pond snails and ramshorn snails trying to eat my plants. I was wondering how Aunt Kimmie sent you your MTS snails? Just in case I would like to ship some of these out.

Oh the irony...I pretty much exterminated the pond snail problem...but now want to get puffers and need the pond snails for food..lol..Hopefully i can find 2..don't know if they are asexual..are they?

I will hold off on the assassins..Thanks for the info though M

I love dwarf puffers, they're so cute! I wish they weren't such huge jerks to everything else. I hope you get some though, that'll solve your problems. And don't worry about getting more pond snails, they'll pop back up no matter what you do. And yeah, they produce asexually.

I was looking at dwarfs but I will most likely go with the peaceful amazon / South american puffer because they are puffers you can actually put in a community tank...thought that was impossible..but the dwarf are sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo adorable )

Hi Eileen,
She sent them in a document envelope..not sure what they are called it was the hard... not paper... not cardboard but somewhere in between.(FedEx envelope i think) I wouldn't recommend it if you sent out larger MTS..compared to the size they have grown into they are better off if they are very small to ship that way..one did get crushed..you know how delicate the mailman/woman is..lol

Oh no, one of my babies got crushed??? Priority envelope, it was. Was the paper towel inside the zip lock bag dried out by the time it reached you??

Yeah unfortunately one got crushed..I think because he was larger...the envelope was soggy they must have popped the bag in their delicate process..the rest were just fine..

yeah I have another load of pond snails but I am giving them to locals. Where are you located?
