Exclamation What can I add to my tank?

I have a 15 gallon tank who's primary focus it to grow Wisteria to be later transfer to my 60 gallon tank. I have a few shrimp and mollies in there. I had to introduce otocinclus because the mollies poop is an eye sore on my substrate. I am using ultra fine white beach sand.
What can I add to clean up the tank but NOT eat the plants?
I was looking at buying snails but they would eat the plants. Is there a fish or invertebrate that will help clean my tank? Sometimes the top surface of the substrate will looks brown and gross.

You got an Otocinclus to clean up Molly poop from the substrate? I wouldn't count on that working. They eat algae, not poop. They are pretty fussy about which algae too I have found. They do a good job of keeping the plants cleaned up (unless you leave your lights on way too long like I recently did.) and keep the glass pretty clean too. Oto's like to be a group of 5 or so, if you have room and plenty of algae build up to feed them, I would add a few more. That might be enough in the grow out tank to keep it looking active.

I don't know of anything that will actually eat poop but as far as snails go they will not eat plants. I have malaysian trumpet snails along with bladder snails in my tanks now. The MTS will burrow through the substrate through. Which will keep the sand from compacting over time. It also helps to aerate the sand. Nothing bad about that IMO. Bladder or pond snails will stay out in the open on the glass or plants but there again not eating the plants but keeping algea off of them. So no poop eating but there are some pluses there.
