Are water clearing products safe for ghost shrimp?

I bought a new tank for my ghost shrimp, and set it up last week. But the water is staying cloudy despite a filter, even though it's just a crappy little filter that came with the tank (it's just a 2 gallon tank, small space). I have done 2 25% changes since setting it up. There is a moss ball and small java fern in with them. I know this is bothering me more than them, because they are active and seem quite happy but the water just isn't clear to my liking. I bought some Crystal Clear and the ingredients are water and tannin based cationic flocculants. Will this hurt my shrimp in anyway or should I just stop worrying about the cloudy water? I know clear water does not always equal healthy water.

Did you rinse off the filter, gravel, plants, and decorations before adding them? If not, that's probably why it's cloudy.

It shouldnt hurt the shrimp. I've used it before in my tank and it didnt bother anything.

Everything was rinsed thoroughly. They have one decoration. It was cleaned with vinegar and rinsed. Gravel was rinsed thoroughly. Marimo moss ball and java fern (both 'rinsed). Tank was cleaned with vinegar even though brand new and rinsed. Filter rinsed.

You said you used the product, did you have ghost shrimp in the tank?
