Why?? I really like my Assasins and want to prevent any further deaths. Water params are 0 for amm & nitrIte, 5 ppm nitrAtes, ph 7.4. Tank is maintained at a steady 77 degrees. 50% water changes weekly.
They share a tank with multiple RCS and MTS. Any idea why these two succumbed?? How long do these snails live anyway? I see on our profiles that they are carnivorous so I know they didn't die for lack of food. They have plenty of MTS to feed off of, and I feed the tank with various forms of food, including beefheart, sinking carnivore pellets, etc.

Well, due to their size they could have easliy been a year old, as they were my largest ones. I'm using sand substrate in a planted tank.
What substrates would they do better in, if not sand??
