Snails & Salt

I would like to add a little aquarium salt to my betta's tank - I also have a golden mystery snail in there with him (5 gallons, filtered, heated). Would that hurt the snail if I put a teaspoon or so in there??

There's no reason for you to add aquarium salt unless your fish has been sick with ich or horribly injured.

Whoops, just answered this question in another thread. I agree with Lupin; not only is there no need to use salt on a regular basis in a freshwater tank, it can actually be detrimental to the health of certain species (including your betta and snail).
