It really depends on the species of snails but it takes no efforts to breed ramshorns, MTS and pond snails. All you need is another tank, a sponge filter and overfeeding for them to breed quickly.

If you want to start keeping snails as pets rather than foods for the fish, I suggest trying Pomacea bridgesii. These do not eat plants whereas the Pomacea canaliculata will although the latter is banned in many states anyway due to the damage they cause to the vegetation especially in foreign lands.
I only want these things breeding so I can feed the fish :P

Hey Lupin, I didn't know pond snails were hermaphrodites.... Does that mean they absolutely don't breed? I thought I knew what snails breeding looked like, and I think I found my pond snails mating before? Am I crazy?

And just before you laid dead weight upon its shores, I stung you in the face for that's the nature of my core.
