Snail Farm

I've been looking into getting dwarf puffers. I know that they like snails so I was wondering if I could get tips for starting a snail farm.

A couple of 10 gallon tanks, some ponds snails, a heater, filter and lots of fish food. That is the fastest way to get a lot of little ones.

Could try Ramshorns for a larger treat but a slower reproducer.
Colombian Ramshorns will produce fairly quick and get much larger. Easier to feed with a large piece of leaf letture or Romaine every other day. But you would need a larger tank because they get huge. (silver dollar size or larger.)

Only ones to avoid are malaysian trumpet snails. Shells are too hard and they don't reproduce very quickly not to mention they can be hard to harvest as they hide in the substrate.

The nice thing about pond snails (aka pest snails) is that you can get them from your LFS for free (cuz they don't want them!), they're nice and small for the tiny little dwarf puffers, and they reproduce like crazy.

Snails are messy little critters. A large enough supply to regularly feed your puffers may take 2 tanks to keep them running. It all depends on how many you want to feed the puffers and how often.
